About this talk

On 24 May 2023, the School of Psychology at Universidad Diego Portales screened «42K de Perseverancia», the documentary about Macarena’s recovery after her stroke.

The screening was part of Brain Injury Week, which the university runs every year together with Headway: The Brain Injury Association, from the United Kingdom, to make brain injuries visible and better understood. That year the campaign set out to challenge the stereotypes and negative beliefs that tend to grow out of not knowing.

After the screening there was a conversation with the audience, moderated by SEREBROS, the Chilean platform on acquired brain injury. Macarena answered questions about her rehabilitation and about what it means to rebuild a life after a diagnosis.

What they said

Quoted in the original Spanish.
